Eastwood Elementary is a new 71,500 SF elementary school that includes a total of twenty-eight classrooms, a full-service cafeteria and a gymnasium. The project was designed targeting LEED Silver Certification (and achieved Gold Certification) as defined by the United States Green Building Council and utilizes energy efficient and environmentally sustainable materials including an insulated concrete formed wall system (ICF) and a wind turbine. Many educational tools were also designed into the project to educate students regarding “Green” building.

The project received the AIA West Virginia Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture in Sustainable Design and received Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
