Ogden Newspapers New Press Operations Wheeling, West Virginia
In just nine months, an extremely dilapidated steel company building constructed in 1890 was renovated and adapted to house a new printing press for The Ogden Newspapers.
Idle for several years, the 128,000 SF building and grounds required a substantial amount of repair and renovation work. 218,000 SF of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel roofing
and siding were used in the renovation. The project involved placing 463 CY of concrete, or 12,501 SF. JD&E designed and installed a "floating" concrete
pad separate from the remainder of the building's floor to handle the weight of a new printing press. January 2001 - December 2001 |
